The Senior Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, building and evolving the core cloud platform capabilities will enable a new SaaS platform to integrate with existing bank platforms. It will enable data teams to deliver securely, reliably and at scale. The role combines deep hands on engineering with senior technical judgement, operating within established enterprise architecture and security guardrails.
This is a senior hands-on execution and enablement role, not a principal or enterprise architect position.

Responsibilities

Critical: Lead the design and build of core cloud platform capabilities from scratch, including environments, tooling and foundational patterns.

Direct and coordinate platform engineering activities across internal and partner teams, remaining hands on for complex or critical work.

Work closely with enterprise architecture, security and delivery teams to translate high level intent into buildable, operable platform solutions.

Define and implement platform standards covering Infrastructure as Code, container platforms, CI/CD, monitoring and automation.

Ensure platform solutions align with enterprise engineering standards, security guardrails and operational requirements.

Enable application and data teams through reusable platform services, clear guardrails and strong technical documentation

Skills

Must have

bullet icon

Overall, 7 years of relevant experience.

bullet icon

Strong experience with AWS core services including IAM, VPC, EC2, ASG and related networking and security constructs.

bullet icon

Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as CloudFormation or Terraform.

bullet icon

Strong container and Kubernetes experience, including EKS.

bullet icon

Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Octopus or similar.

Experience with monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics or equivalent.

bullet icon

Solid programming or scripting experience in Python, C#, Bash or PowerShell.

bullet icon

Strong understanding of DevOps and SRE practices including automation, monitoring, logging and security.

bullet icon

Experience with API platforms and tooling such as OpenAPI, Swagger, Kong, Redocly or Akamai.

Exposure to SaaS platform integrations (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Workday).

Understanding of data batch processing or data warehousing concepts

Proven ability to operate in enterprise or regulated environments.

Nice to have

Experience writing Kubernetes controllers or operators.

Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow.
