We are seeking an experienced Digital Solutions Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, security, and strategic evolution of institutional-grade digital asset custody platforms. This role serves as the authoritative technical expert for custody architecture, cryptographic security, and blockchain integrations, ensuring systems meet the highest standards of security, resilience, and regulatory compliance.
As a senior technical leader, you will shape custody strategy, set engineering standards, mentor teams, and collaborate with security, compliance, and leadership stakeholders. You will play a key role in safeguarding private keys, strengthening transaction controls, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of mission-critical digital asset infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design and architect secure digital asset custody solutions, including hot, warm, and cold wallet environments

bullet icon

Build, manage, and govern Key Management Systems (KMS) leveraging MPC, multi-signature, and HSM technologies

bullet icon

Develop and maintain blockchain integrations for networks such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Layer 2 solutions

bullet icon

Own the end-to-end private key lifecycle, including secure generation, storage, rotation, backup, recovery, and decommissioning

bullet icon

Define and enforce secure transaction workflows, covering signing policies, approval hierarchies, thresholds, and monitoring

bullet icon

Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for custody architecture, blockchain security, and applied cryptography

bullet icon

Lead security practices, including threat modeling, risk assessments, security audits, and incident response activities

bullet icon

Ensure compliance with regulatory and security frameworks such as FCA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FATF guidelines

Drive system reliability, scalability, and resilience, including blockchain node infrastructure, observability, and disaster recovery strategies

Establish and maintain standards, technical documentation, and best practices for custody and blockchain engineering

Mentor and guide engineering teams, influencing architectural decisions and long-term platform strategy

Skills

Must have

Professional experience in software engineering, security engineering, or distributed systems

bullet icon

Deep, hands-on experience in digital asset custody, blockchain platforms, or cryptographic systems

bullet icon

Proven experience acting as a technical lead or SME for complex, security-sensitive platforms

bullet icon

Advanced knowledge of public-key cryptography, key lifecycle management, and secure signing mechanisms

bullet icon

Demonstrated experience with Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Layer 2 or emerging blockchain networks

bullet icon

Strong understanding of custody models, transaction mechanics, fee models, and blockchain consensus behaviors

bullet icon

Hands-on experience with MPC, multi-signature schemes, HSMs, and secure enclave technologies

bullet icon

Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant systems in cloud or hybrid environments

Proficiency in one or more backend or systems languages (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, Python, or similar)

Strong understanding of security architecture principles and defense-in-depth strategies

Experience leading or supporting regulatory audits and certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
