• The Desktop Engineering role is part of a squad of SMEs that design and engineer Windows Desktop builds for our physical and virtual platforms - 130k desktop endpoints.
• In this role, you will be able to inspire and influence modern PC management. This function defines global hardware standards for desktop devices as well as OS configuration and patching.

Responsibilities

Design and build deployment solutions for our Windows physical and virtual platforms

Define and create automated and manual testing procedures

Analyse user requirements

Create design and architecture documents

Create KB articles for L2 and L1 teams

Act as L3 for production issues

bullet icon

Liaise with peers in other infrastructure teams to ensure designs fit their needs

Work with global peers to ensure cross-team knowledge transfer

Response to security audits

Assist the penetration testing process

Must have

Desktop Engineering experience (design, create, deploy, troubleshoot):

Windows 7 and Windows 10 physical and virtual client builds

bullet icon

Windows OS images using technologies like MDT, SCCM / MECM

Driver management, BIOS

bullet icon

Automate patch management (with SCCM/MECM)

Core Windows technologies including but not limited to:

GPO management, Roaming profiles, Offline files, Folder redirection.

Admin scripting: PowerShell, VBScript and Batch files
