Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America are looking for Consultants to be part of the project

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.

The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.

The selected resource will be working in a newly setup technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

Lead and support quarterly release cycles for a customer entitlement workflow application built on a microservices architecture using Java Spring Boot. The role involves analyzing functional requirements, assessing the impact of changes across services and databases, and guiding development teams to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with functional business analysts, product owners and project managers to understand and refine functional requirements.

Perform impact analysis on existing Java codebase and database schemas to assess feasibility and complexity of changes.

Design scalable and secure microservices architecture aligned with enterprise standards.

Review and guide implementation of changes in Java Spring Boot services and associated data models.

Ensure integration points across services are well-defined and resilient.

Participate in code reviews and provide technical leadership to development teams.

Coordinate with DevOps and QA teams to ensure smooth deployment and testing of quarterly releases.

Maintain architectural documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.

Skills

Must have

bullet icon

Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

bullet icon

6+ years of experience in software architecture and development, preferably in enterprise or banking environments.

bullet icon

Strong hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot, microservices, and RESTful APIs.

bullet icon

Proficient in analyzing and modifying Java codebases and SQL/NoSQL databases.

bullet icon

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and quarterly release planning.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Prior experience in banking or financial services is a plus.
