Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, are looking for Data Engineers.

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising, and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.

The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.
You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

Responsibilities

Server & Platform SME Support

Act as Server SME for Digital Banking applications across multiple environments.

Provide expert support for application servers, middleware, and runtime environments.

Ensure platform stability, availability, and performance.

bullet icon

Backend Application Expertise

bullet icon

Provide technical expertise for backend services built using Java and Spring Boot.

bullet icon

Support application runtime issues, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis.

bullet icon

Guide teams on best practices for server-side application deployment and scaling.

bullet icon

Environment & Deployment Management

bullet icon

Support deployments and releases across HPUX, Linux, and Solaris environments.

bullet icon

Work closely with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines and automation.

bullet icon

Support containerized deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift (good to have).

Middleware & Integration Support

bullet icon

Support middleware and integration components such as WebLogic Server and Camel (CXF).

Assist teams with API integrations, batch processing (Spring Batch), and messaging issues.

Web & Content Platforms (Good to Have)

Provide support and guidance for Web Content Management (WCM) platforms such as:

AEM Forms / Sites

OpenText TeamSite

Support JSP-based applications and web-layer troubleshooting.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

Drive automation initiatives for server monitoring, deployments, and operational tasks.

Recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.

Collaboration & Governance

bullet icon

Work with architects, developers, and operations teams across Digital Banking chapters.

Participate in design reviews, incident reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and management reporting.

Skills

Must have

6-9 years of strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.

Hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications on HPUX, Linux, and Solaris.

Experience with Oracle Database-backed applications.

Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident management skills.
