Project description

We are seeking a QA Engineer to join a software engineering team developing computational software for our client in the global medical technology sector. The product handles complex 3D geometry and numerical data to support digital manufacturing workflows. You will ensure that algorithms generate correct, stable, and accurate results through data-level testing of computational outputs, rather than UI testing.

Responsibilities
bullet icon

Design and run verification strategies for computational, geometric and numerical algorithms (3D geometry, meshes, point clouds, numerical pipelines).

bullet icon

Validate results against reference data, analytical solutions, golden datasets and defined tolerances.

bullet icon

Check geometric correctness and consistency: topology, watertightness, self-intersections, orientation, dimensional accuracy.

bullet icon

Assess numerical stability, precision loss, sensitivity to input variation, and behaviour on boundary and degenerate cases.

bullet icon

Build and maintain Python-based automation for data preparation, comparison, metric calculation and regression testing of algorithm output.

bullet icon

Create and curate test datasets, including edge cases and synthetic data.

bullet icon

Write verification and validation documentation according to the client's QMS and regulatory guidelines: test plans, test cases and protocols, V&V reports, test evidence and requirements traceability.

bullet icon

Document defects and deviations with clear root-cause analysis. Work with algorithm developers to troubleshoot them.

bullet icon

Take part in requirements reviews and help define measurable acceptance criteria for algorithm behaviour.

bullet icon

Integrate automated validation into CI pipelines.

Skills

Must have

bullet icon

4+ years in software QA or test engineering. A meaningful part of that must be spent testing computational, numerical, geometric, scientific, imaging or simulation software.

bullet icon

Hands-on testing experience in at least one of these areas:

bullet icon

CAD / CAM / CAE

bullet icon

3D geometry, mesh or point-cloud processing

bullet icon

Image or signal processing (DSP)

bullet icon

Simulation or scientific computing

bullet icon

Other algorithm-intensive software

bullet icon

Proven experience validating numerical and geometric data quality: accuracy and tolerances, geometric correctness, numerical stability, edge cases, and comparison against expected or reference data.

bullet icon

Experience automating data-level validation of computational results, rather than mainly UI testing.

bullet icon

Strong Python scripting skills (e.g. NumPy, SciPy, pandas, pytest). Experience with 3D libraries such as trimesh, Open3D, VTK or PyVista is a plus.

bullet icon

Ability to write clear, structured V&V documentation with full traceability.

bullet icon

Strong analytical, mathematical and troubleshooting skills.

bullet icon

Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related field.

bullet icon

Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice to have

bullet icon

Experience with 3D manufacturing, additive manufacturing (3D printing), computational geometry or digital manufacturing software.

bullet icon

Experience with large or complex 3D or numerical datasets (STL, OBJ, PLY, point clouds, CT/scan data).

bullet icon

Experience in a regulated or quality-controlled environment (ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 14971).

bullet icon

Familiarity with C++ codebases, enough to read algorithm code and discuss it with developers.

bullet icon

Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and test management tools (Jira/Xray, Polarion, TestRail).
