An opportunity is available for a Senior Business Analyst to join our client, a prominent Australian financial institution, as a key contributor to the analysis, design, and development of their OTC derivative clearing platform. This role is part of a major transformation program within the capital markets landscape. The work encompasses specialized areas such as new trade processes, risk interface development with the trading platform, regulatory reporting enhancements, and involvement with industry-leading equities and derivatives clearing platforms.

Responsibilities

The role is responsible for assessing new concepts against current systems and procedures, analysing stakeholder needs from an end-to-end perspective, engaging internal and external clients through various facilitation techniques and mediums, and providing high quality, fit for purpose business analysis artefacts

Be an active and vocal member of the Markets transformation team, bringing your past experience in transformation programs and adapting it to a strong client culture.

bullet icon

Work with impacted stakeholders to perform deep dives and discovery on the As-Is state of clearing risk management systems for derivatives products, allowing for effective review by project team members and impacted stakeholders.

Liaise with assigned Product Owners and Development teams for prioritisation, elicitation and analysis of new business requests within the program.

Run workshops to identify requirements and evaluate solutions.

bullet icon

Perform gap analysis between the As-Is state and the To-Be state.

bullet icon

Write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria for functional and non-functional requirements.

Present and clearly articulate user stories and other business requirements to a wide audience including developers, testers, vendors and project stakeholders

bullet icon

Support QA teams on integration testing, plan and participate in UAT, provide hyper care support post implementation.

Skills

Must have

The role demands over five years of expertise in capital markets, with a focus on derivatives products and back-office processes. Candidates are expected to apply this knowledge to effectively manage and improve related workflows. Additionally, a thorough understanding of agile methodologies is essential to contribute successfully within project environments.
