The System Management Analyst will support a large-scale enterprise infrastructure project focused on optimizing data center operations, enhancing virtualization environments, and ensuring system reliability across critical business systems.
This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting Red Hat Linux systems, managing VMware, Citrix, and SAN storage infrastructure, and performing physical hardware deployments in a dynamic, high-availability environment.
The analyst will play a key role in preventive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to support business continuity and service excellence.
System Management Analyst – Core Responsibilities
Perform System-Wide Preventive Maintenance
Conduct regular system checks and implement preventive measures to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Investigate and Resolve System Issues
Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of system-related incidents to maintain operational continuity and performance.
Manage Virtualization and Citrix Environments
Administer and support VMware environments, including configuration, monitoring, and optimization of virtual machines and related infrastructure.
Manage and support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (2203 or newer), ensuring high availability and user performance.
Perform Citrix application creation, publishing, and troubleshooting across environments.
Support and troubleshoot Citrix NetScaler (ADC) appliances, including creation and management of VIPs, certificates, and authentication rules.
Maintain and optimize Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) environments, including version-based image management and streaming.
Work closely with Windows Server and Active Directory teams to support Citrix integrations and user management.
Support Data Center Operations
Contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and space planning.
Configure and Manage Storage Systems
Utilize Logical Volume Manager (LVM) for storage configuration (volume groups, logical volumes, and file systems).
Manage SAN and NAS storage platforms (DELL, NetApp, PURE), including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Perform Physical Hardware Management
Rack and stack physical hardware, manage cabling, and ensure optimal physical layout and connectivity in data centers.
Administer Linux-Based Systems
Perform advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8 & 9).
Maintain compliance with Red Hat system lifecycle policies.
Develop and Use Automation Scripts
Create and maintain Shell scripts to automate tasks such as SAN snapshot configuration, system monitoring, and maintenance.
Ensure System Reliability and Availability
Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization to ensure service availability and adherence to SLAs.
Document Systems and Procedures
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Citrix-Specific Duties:
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD 2203 or newer):
Application creation, publishing, and permission management.
Troubleshooting login issues, performance, and session management.
Monitoring via Citrix Director and integration with VMware/AD.
Citrix NetScaler (ADC):
Create and manage VIPs and SSL certificates.
Troubleshoot connectivity and load-balancing issues.
Support for authentication and traffic management rules.
Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS):
Manage image versions and update cycles.
Troubleshoot streaming performance issues.
Windows Server Support:
Apply patches, updates, and troubleshoot Citrix-related dependencies.
Must have
Mandatory Skills:
Incident Management / Problem Management (ITIL, ITSM frameworks)
At least 4+ years of relevant experience in systems management or infrastructure engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with:
VMware environments
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (2203 or newer)
Citrix NetScaler and PVS
Red Hat Linux (RHEL 8/9) troubleshooting and lifecycle management
LVM and SAN/NAS storage management
Data Center design, build, and physical hardware management (rack & stack, cabling)
Shell scripting for automation and snapshot management
Nice to have
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning for Citrix and VMware environments.
Experience managing complex, multi-site virtualization deployments.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to interface effectively with technical and leadership teams.
