Support one of the top Australian banks as they seek to modernize payments technology platform.
You will be working on the latest technologies to keep this organization leading the pack.
Working closely with business stakeholders with an agile, engineering-first approach.

Responsibilities
bullet icon

Design and develop secure, scalable REST APIs and backend services using Java/Node.js.

Build containerized solutions leveraging AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and related cloud services.

bullet icon

Implement robust API security, authentication/authorization (OAuth2/JWT), throttling, and rate limiting controls.

bullet icon

Develop event driven integrations using Kafka/MQ for messaging and streaming workflows.

bullet icon

Ensure high quality code through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.

bullet icon

Apply microservices architecture, clean coding practices, and resilient design patterns for distributed systems.

bullet icon

Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability with strong monitoring and observability practices.

bullet icon

Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver features in fast-paced Agile environments.

bullet icon

Support compliance, auditability, and safe handling of transactions in payments/financial systems.

Troubleshoot production issues, drive root-cause analysis, and continuously improve services

Skills

Must have

4-10 years experience in backend/API development.

bullet icon

Strong proficiency in one or more languages: Java, Node.js,

Expertise in building and consuming REST APIs, API security, OAuth2/JWT.

Hands-on experience with AWS Serverless (Lambda, API Gateway) and containerized services

bullet icon

Strong understanding of Kafka, MQ, or other event streaming/messaging platforms.

Experience with payments systems, transaction processing, or financial services domain.

Practical experience with CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and automated testing frameworks.
