A leading bank in Australia is undertaking a major Core Banking transformation and customer migration program. We are looking for a Senior Core Banking Migration Functional Test Lead with proven experience in large-scale banking transformation and migration programs, covering functional testing, customer and data migration validation, reconciliation, end-to-end integration testing, and cutover and rehearsal testing.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end functional testing for Core Banking transformation and migration, ensuring critical banking processes and customer journeys are validated.

Develop and execute comprehensive Test Strategies, Test Plans, Quality Gates, Dashboards, and Governance Reporting.

Lead functional validation of Core Banking products, processes, business rules, customer journeys, and transactional workflows.

bullet icon

Lead customer and data migration testing, including reconciliation, validation, completeness, accuracy, and functional verification of migrated data.

bullet icon

Coordinate end-to-end integration testing across Core Banking platforms and associated upstream and downstream applications.

bullet icon

Lead cutover, migration rehearsal, dress rehearsal, and production verification testing, ensuring business-critical scenarios are successfully validated.

Manage System Testing (ST), SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, and Production Verification across multiple releases and migration events.

bullet icon

Define and manage business-critical test scenarios to validate customer, account, product, transaction, and integration outcomes following migration.

Identify, track, and mitigate testing risks, issues, dependencies, and defects across multiple workstreams.

bullet icon

Ensure effective defect governance through defect triage, prioritisation, reporting, escalation, and resolution management.

bullet icon

Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, technology teams, vendors, migration teams, and program leadership to achieve quality objectives.

bullet icon

Coordinate testing across multiple delivery streams, ensuring alignment of test milestones, dependencies, migration activities, and release schedules.

bullet icon

Provide regular status reporting, quality assessments, dashboards, test metrics, risks, and quality gate recommendations to program leadership.

Lead and coordinate cross-functional test teams to ensure successful execution of transformation and migration testing.

Skills

Must have

bullet icon

10+ years of Test Management/Test Lead experience, including leadership of complex transformation and migration testing programs.

bullet icon

Proven experience as a Senior Test Lead delivering large-scale Core Banking transformation and migration programs within the Banking or Financial Services domain.

bullet icon

Strong Core Banking functional testing experience covering banking products, customer journeys, business processes, transactions, and system integrations.

bullet icon

Proven experience in large-scale customer migration and data migration testing, including reconciliation, validation, completeness, accuracy, and post-migration functional verification.

Strong experience leading end-to-end integration testing across Core Banking platforms and associated upstream and downstream systems.

Proven experience planning and executing migration rehearsals, cutover testing, dress rehearsals, and production verification activities.

Ability to define risk-based functional test coverage for critical customer, account, product, transaction, and migration scenarios.

Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Test Strategies, Test Plans, Quality Gate Assessments, Dashboards, and Governance Reporting.

Extensive experience in Defect Management, Risk Management, Issue Management, and Dependency Management across large and complex programs.

Proven experience managing ST, SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, Production Verification, and defect governance.

Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management capability, with the ability to work effectively across business, technology, migration, delivery, and third-party teams.

Ability to coordinate testing across multiple workstreams and migration waves, ensuring alignment of dependencies, risks, milestones, cutover activities, and quality gates.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex functional, integration, reconciliation, and migration defects.

Excellent communication, leadership, and program coordination skills, with experience leading large cross-functional testing teams.

Banking or Financial Services experience is mandatory, with proven experience in Core Banking migration or transformation programs.
