We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to join our Core Banking Support team as part of Banking Customer in Australia. This is a hands-on support role, not a software development position. You will bring deep technical troubleshooting expertise, strong communication skills, and a service-oriented mindset to help customers resolve issues efficiently and confidently.

Responsibilities

Application of ITIL processes and procedures through planning and fulfilling appropriate support requirements.

Involvement in the areas of production support and development.

First line support for production issues of a mission critical application.

Maintain a thorough knowledge of the application, including business rules.

Maintain documentation of production issues, production run

books and assist in documenting operational best practices.

Ability to liaise with the client on issues, changes, development cycles and planning the release content.

Drive resolution of high priority issues causing impacts to the client's IT systems

Providing input to client support plans for complex systems.

Troubleshooting of issues impacting the supported applications.

Must have

Hands on experience on AS400, RPG, CLLE, SQL and IBM DB2

Good hands-on working knowledge in RPG and AS400/iSeries concepts.

Hands on experience with iSeries & iSeries libraries.

Hands on experience with Mainframe Batch Processing, file validations, data reconciliation and troubleshooting.

Banking Domain application support knowledge.

Handle Conference Bridge during critical production downtime (P1 and P2 incidents)

Nice to have

Strong ITIL Process knowledge.

Experience on Core Banking Applications.
