We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Migration Manager to execute VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) migration projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in VCF, as well as server OS skills (Linux and Windows), ensuring seamless migration and continued system reliability. This role will oversee the migration of critical business workloads, infrastructure, and services, working closely with stakeholders to deliver robust cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end VCF migration projects across enterprise environments.

Assess existing infrastructure and create detailed project plans.

Lead migration activities, including workload transition, data transfer, and post-migration validation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal disruption and optimal outcomes during migration.

Develop documentation, migration runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials for internal teams.

Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.

Monitor project progress, manage timelines, and report status to senior management and stakeholders.

Deliver technical training and support to team members regarding VCF best practices.

Skills

Must have

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Over all 10+ years experience with 8+ yrs of relevant experience

Proven experience managing large-scale virtual server migration projects.

In-depth knowledge of VCF architecture, deployment, and operational best practices.

Strong hands-on experience with Enterprise server Operating Systems including Linux and Windows Server.

Strong knowledge of infrastructure components including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Networking and server virtualisation.

Familiarity with vSphere, vSAN, HCX and SDDC components.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in both cloud and on-premises environments.

Solid understanding of IT security, backup, and disaster recovery principles.

Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Relevant certifications such as VMware VCP, VCAP, or Microsoft MCSE/MCSA are highly desirable.

Minimum 5 years' experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 2 years in migration and project co-ordination type roles.

Desirable Attributes

Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud integration.

Experience with ServiceNow ticketing systems.

ITILv3 knowledge and certification.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of industry trends.

Nice to have
