Project description

We look for experienced prototype vehicle test drivers with extensive driving experience and advanced driving skills to conduct public road and test track test drives, day and night shifts, including scenarios that require emergency braking and other autonomous drive feature test scenarios. The goal of the project is to collect sensor data for different set of environmental conditions and different vehicle models. Project duration is up to 2 years and require full-time engagement with possible night shift, weekend and overtime hours. For the test track work, it may require additional support to create a scene (involving dummy object placement, etc.) to simulate certain rare conditions.

Role Definition

The Automotive Development Driver is responsible for safely operating test, development, prototype, and production vehicles in support of automotive testing and validation programs. The role focuses on professional driving, accurate observation, and detailed reporting of vehicle behavior during testing activities. This position does not require automotive diagnostic or engineering expertise but requires strong driving skills, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to provide clear and objective feedback to engineering and project teams.

Safely operate assigned test vehicles on public roads, proving grounds, and controlled test environments.

Execute predefined driving routes, test procedures, and evaluation plans.

Perform vehicle assessments under varying road, traffic, weather, and environmental conditions.

Observe and report vehicle behavior, performance concerns, warning indicators, unusual noises, vibrations, and customer-perceived issues.

Document test results, observations, incidents, and feedback accurately and thoroughly.

Follow all project-specific test procedures, safety requirements, and operational guidelines.

Conduct pre-drive and post-drive vehicle inspections and report any visible issues or damage.

Maintain accurate driving logs and vehicle utilization records.

Communicate findings effectively to supervisors, project coordinators, and engineering teams.

Driving Requirements:

Valid U.S. driver's license with the appropriate license class/category for the vehicles being operated.

Clean driving record with no significant violations.

Possession of a Chauffeur Driver License/Qualification or equivalent advanced driver certification.

Availability to drive across the region/country/continent

Completion of advanced driver training, including:
