Our client is leading the way with initiatives to improve the customer experience through the use of vehicle data to manage, update and improve the car. We are looking for a Senior Data Privacy Architect/Engineer to join the team and play a crucial role in continuing to manage and develop our connected vehicles in line with privacy regulations and best practices.

This exciting role will work closely with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to ensure that vehicle data processing and system designs meet global privacy regulations and internal governance standards.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

bullet icon

Lead collaboration with engineers, architects, and product teams to develop accurate technical descriptions and data flows for connected vehicle systems and remote vehicle services.

Perform and review privacy gap analyses and technical risk assessments across in-vehicle, cloud, and mobile platforms.

bullet icon

Support the completion of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), ensuring robust technical inputs and mitigations.

Ensure compliance with internal privacy frameworks and governance processes.

Skills

Must have

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

bullet icon

Deep understanding of software, systems, and data architecture in AWS.

bullet icon

Proficiency in system modelling and data flow tools (Lucidchart, UML, etc.).

bullet icon

Strong technical knowledge of privacy-enhancing technologies, encryption, and secure data-handling practices.

Understanding of vehicle architecture

bullet icon

Some Knowledge of global privacy and automotive compliance frameworks: GDPR, CCPA, UNECE R155/R156, ISO 21434, ISO 27701 is a plus.

Previous experience in completing PIAs/DPIAs, technical risk assessments, and privacy compliance initiatives is a plus.

Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex privacy requirements into actionable technical strategies.

Persistence and resilience to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner and according to the processes.
