Responsibilities

Own and drive the database conversion workstream end-to-end — not just execution, but planning, issue resolution, and delivery outcomes

Develop and own the conversion plan in collaboration with SMEs; continuously refine based on risks, dependencies, and findings

bullet icon

Quarterback for different tasks and deliverables within the broader engagement

bullet icon

Risk and Issue Management: Maintain RAID log; independently drive proactive risk tracking, issue resolution, follow ups

Proactively identify data risks, dependencies, and blockers across upstream/downstream systems and drive resolution

bullet icon

Own status reporting, risks, and overall delivery against committed milestones

bullet icon

Escalate issues with judgment, ensuring timely visibility while maintaining delivery momentum

Create and manage a comprehensive program plan that includes daily operational activities and all interrelated project tasks, such as UAT execution, testing results, obtaining sign-offs, and documenting evidence for Compliance

Potential responsibilities:

Define and execute database migration strategy including schema conversion, data migration, and configuration transformation

bullet icon

Work with infrastructure and DBA teams to validate performance, tuning, and scalability of migrated data

bullet icon

Propose and implement solutions for data inconsistencies, performance issues, and migration bottlenecks

bullet icon

Convene and lead working sessions across functional, technical, and vendor teams to drive conversion readiness

Skills

Must have

bullet icon

10+ years of experience in database migration and conversion, preferably with Oracle experience; Murex environments not mandatory but a plus

bullet icon

Strong Program Management skills, experience with RAID logs and other project/program management tools is a big plus

bullet icon

Proven ability to own and drive a workstream independently, including planning, execution, and issue resolution

bullet icon

Ability to identify risks early, propose solutions, and drive issues to closure (not just track/report)

bullet icon

Experience working across cross-functional teams including infra, functional, and vendor stakeholders

bullet icon

Strong ownership mindset with ability to manage end-to-end deliverables under tight timelines

Not mandatory but very big plus:

Strong expertise in RDBMS concepts including schema design, data migration, and performance tuning

Hands-on experience with Sybase to Oracle (or similar) conversion projects

Basic knwledge in SQL, Unix/Linux, and scripting (shell, perl, awk)

Strong understanding of Murex data model, configuration structures, and database architecture

Experience executing large-scale migration cycles including mock runs, reconciliation, and cutover

Strong experience in defining and executing data reconciliation and validation frameworks
