About the Team

Financial Markets (FM) has expertise combined with deep local market knowledge to deliver a variety of risk management, financing and investment solutions to our clients. The FM team offers capabilities across origination, structuring, sales, trading and research. Offering a full suite of fixed income, currencies, commodities, equities and capital markets solutions, FM has firmly established itself as a trusted partner with extensive on-the-ground knowledge and deep relationships.

The successful candidate will play an important role in the development of multiple highly visible deliveries with the primary responsibilities around development activities.
The candidate will be expected to take ownership, responsibility and accountability for deliveries.
The candidate will work closely with the other team members and stakeholders to design and implement strategic solutions. The candidate is expected to work in a dynamic global team with developers, project managers, business stakeholders and other technical experts across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

Be a proactive, self-starting developer who can quickly understand the requirements, technology platform and external integrations and start designing and contributing to the delivery.

Liaise with devops and wider team to effectively manage resource usage

Apply your experience of financial markets electronic trade capture, booking and full lifecycle to build these features into our platform

Work within the ever-evolving framework of Financial Markets specifications and regulations to ensure internal inhouse tools are using best-in-class technology within the boundaries of approved technologies

Build services with an API-first approach and generic pattern mindset for scale across multiple dimensions

ptimized compute/performance, functional, visualization, quality control

Implement and enforce safe defensive coding, intelligent design, access control, in low-maintenance supportable applications

Provide Production L3 support as required, to this delivery and the wider platform. We have users from Asia to New York, and you'll be part of a global team of developers

Skills

Must have

General Skills:

Experienced developers with previous experience in the end-to-end design, development and support of large scale data processing systems built on RDBMS.

Ability to work and liaise directly with the Front Office, Middle Office and various functions.

Familiarity and confidence working in an agile development environment.

Familiarity with CI/CD and devops.

Self-starter who can drive/facilitate requirements and development effort with the business.

Technical Knowledge

Min 6y+ experience in Java and Multi-Threading is essential.

Any experience with technologies such as PostgreSQL, Kafka or ElasticSearch is a plus.

Oracle PL/SQL development background, SQL Tuning is a plus

Scripting programming in Linux shell, Python is a plus.

Development experience on functional language, such as Haskell, is a plus.
