Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, are looking for Software Engineers.
The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising, and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.
The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.
You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.
The Production Support Level 3 Engineer is a role within Regional Core Banking for AS400 that is responsible to support application wellness in production, remediate application defects, and manage communications with second-level production support, business units and vendors on deployment approach and timelines.
Daily job scope involves participating in daily agile stand ups, closely following-up and monitor production defects, performing code development, unit and integrated testing, and deployment to production.
Perform root cause analysis on application defects and provide solution for remediation.
Prioritize defects and plan for production release based on defect criticality or align with quarterly releases
Perform program code development, support end-to-end testing in SIT, UAT and deployment to Production environments.
Maintain production stability by ensuring deployments have completed the necessary risk and impact assessments.
Communicate in a clear, concise, and timely manner to stakeholders with respect to application related issues or queries.
Assist production level 2 support with the investigation, root cause finding and feasibility of recovery approach as and when required.
Follow up on defect closure and meet defect closure KPI
Share production defect support learning with internal teams to improve quality and minimize future defects of application delivery
Ensure application documentation is properly updated for each production release
Must have
4 or more years' of production support experience across multiple technologies / platform
6-9 years of experience with AS400 platform & RPG/LE, CL/LE, COBOL400, SQL and Query400.
Have experience with Control-M enterprise job scheduler and connect:direct file transfers
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Strong written, oral communication skills and able to manage user / vendor / customer
Ability to easily adopt to any technology / environment
Experienced and have good understanding in Core Banking modules with remittances and payment products such as SWIFT MT/MX, local RTGS and GIRO payment is preferred.
Familiar with incident and problem management processes
Familiar with agile methodology
Knowledge of Agile deployment methodology preferred
