We are seeking a Network Escalation Engineer position in support of our Managed Services global business.
Our goal is to provide a senior top-tier networking professional as a lead point of escalation for client's public and private Cloud environments and services. The candidate will support client's cloud operations when called upon to lead troubleshooting efforts in collaboration with Service, Operations, Security, customer IT and Networking, customer Telco partners, Microsoft, and Palo Alto Networks. The Network Engineer must have expertise with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) & Microsoft Azure. Good incident management practices, including regular written escalation updates during incidents and summaries and RCAs post-incident. The position will receive direction from the Manager of Global Cloud Operations
Provide network knowledge and experience in support of cloud solutions. Private, public and hybrid infrastructure, network, and security.
Work with a global team of cloud experts to support customer infrastructure, availability, security & performance.
Collaborate to quickly resolve any network-related outages and resolve customer-impacting issues quickly.
Contribute to the successful execution of projects.
Create, update and complete documentation.
Investigate root cause analysis of incidents with follow-up reporting and final content generation.
Collaborate with network engineers on procedures, techniques, tips & knowledge to improve operations, security and work performed.
Provide the highest level of customer service.
Advanced understanding of vendor and telco/exchange/service providers support escalation paths, and being able to escalate support requests to these vendors in a typically urgent and timely fashion.
Must have
Degree in computer science, or other engineering or technical discipline is preferred, or equivalent (7-10 years of additional specific relevant experience may be substituted for education).
Experience in supporting and managing networks in an enterprise cloud computing environment.
Deep understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP), addressing, NAT and subnetting, CIDR.
Routing and Switching expertise in dynamic routing protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS. Experience with VLANs, STP, and layer 2/3 concepts.
Network Performance Analysis, with the ability to interpret packet captures using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf, or SolarWinds as examples.

WAN and VPN knowledge of technologies such as MPLS, SD-WAN, IPsec, and SSL VPNs. Microsoft ExpressRoute experience preferred.
Skills in hybrid networking setups and cloud-based solutions. Azure Virtual Network.
Hands-on experience with including hands-on experience with routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Citrix NetScaler, etc.).
Experience with Panaroma implementation and experience with centralized governance for Firewalls/Citrix
Network Security Concepts
Expertise in firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, access control lists (ACLs), and DDoS mitigation.
Authentication and Encryption knowledge of RADIUS, TACACS+, PKI, and SSL/TLS.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting telecom/peering partner/peering provider networks. Understanding of vendor and telco/exchange/service providers support escalation paths and being able to escalate support requests to these vendors in a typically urgent and timely fashion.
Experience working with business-critical, highly available/scalable infrastructure and applications.
Experience with ticket handling and processing.
Experience writing technical documentation, including diagram documentation (Visio or Lucid chart)
Clear communicator, ability to communicate technical terms to business and customer stakeholders.
Nice to have
Knowledge of DICOM and HL7 standards
Networking portion of Varian Applications Suite a plus (ARIA, Eclipse...)
Enterprise infrastructure environments
advanced Active Directory and Systems Management concepts.
ITIL knowledge and experience with Incident, Problem, Change and other process disciplines.
Windows Server, Hyper-V & VMWare/vSphere.
Citrix and Remote Desktop Protocol
Advanced Azure IAAS management & administration.
