We are seeking a Senior Murex Technical Consultant (MxML) to support the integration of Murex with an in-house limit control system for our client, a Tier 1 bank. The role centers on enhancing MxML exchange workflows, interface mapping, and integration reporting, including the decommissioning of the Murex Limit Controller (MLC) for certain products. This will involve modifications to existing Pre-Trade rules, Datamart/Viewer, and EOD/Intraday extracts. The consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing MxML exchange workflows and Java-based interfaces with upstream and downstream systems. Additionally, they will contribute to environment and configuration management as well as release processes.
Coordinate with Business Analysts and stakeholders on requirement analysis.
Conduct technical analysis, solution design, and impact assessment for new business requirements and initiatives.
Design, develop, and enhance MxML Exchange workflows for pre-trade validation, trade enrichment, and straight-through processing.
Configure and manage messaging middleware for real-time and batch interfaces.
Support regulatory and reporting solutions using Datamart, end-of-day, and intraday reporting changes.
Develop Datamart/Viewer extracts, end-of-day and intraday SQL extracts, and optimize query performance.
Manage environment and configuration settings, troubleshoot MxML exchanges, and optimize jobs and launchers for stability and performance.
Must have
Hard skills:
Extensive hands-on experience with Murex (MX.3) spanning over 8 years, including MxML Exchange workflows, confirmations, back-office workflows, and reference data management for counterparts and SSIs.
Proficient in designing datamarts and viewers, building reports, and managing end-of-day and intraday processing.
Deep understanding of Murex pre-trade and post-trade workflows, booking sequences, completion checks, and exception handling.
Skilled in integrating Murex with upstream trade booking systems and downstream risk or regulatory platforms.
Experienced in configuration management using MX CTT and version control.
Exposure to, Git-based configuration version control, automated deployment of environment packs, and integration with tools such as Jenkins.
Knowledgeable in pre-trade rules, including user-defined field population, and accounting rules, control templates, and regeneration.
Solid understanding of capital market products such as interest rate derivatives, commodities, and fixed income.
Familiar with trade lifecycle actions, market data setup, and pricing fundamentals.
Soft skills:
Strong analytical capabilities enabling independent ownership of tasks.
Clear and concise communication skills.
Effective collaboration with stakeholders in banking and markets environments.
Nice to have
Optional experience with regulatory reporting frameworks such as ASIC, EMIR, and DTCC, demonstrating familiarity with compliance standards.
Optional proficiency in Java (core and enterprise design patterns), XML/XSLT, and SQL, including query optimization and complex data extraction.
Optional skills in scripting using Shell/Unix for automation tasks and end-of-day scheduling processes.
Optional familiarity with AI-assisted coding editors, including tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and Amp Code, to enhance coding efficiency.
