We are building a software update management system for a leading global automotive brand. We are looking for a Manual Test Engineer to join our Over-the-Air (OTA) testing team and contribute to the verification and validation of automotive software and systems.

In this role, you will perform hands-on testing across multiple test environments, including MTTF benches, test benches, and real vehicles. MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) validation activities will be a major focus of the role, while vehicle and test bench validation remain an important part of day-to-day testing.

You will be responsible for executing and maintaining test campaigns, analyzing results, investigating failures, collecting evidence, and ensuring that all test activities are properly documented and traceable.

The position requires a high level of ownership, independence, and proactive problem-solving. We are looking for someone who can effectively drive testing activities, investigate issues, and collaborate with engineering teams with minimal supervision.

Execute, monitor, and maintain long-running MTTF test campaigns.

Prepare and configure test environments before test execution.

Perform functional, integration, regression, and system-level testing.

Verify automotive software features and system behavior against defined requirements.

Analyze test results, logs, traces, and diagnostic data to identify unexpected system behavior.

Investigate and reproduce test failures and provide detailed failure reports.

Collect and analyze relevant logs, traces, measurements, and other test evidence.

Document test results and maintain accurate test execution records.

bullet icon

Create and maintain test cases and test documentation.

Report, track, and follow up on defects in Jira or similar issue-tracking systems.

Collaborate closely with developers and automation engineers during defect investigation.

Independently investigate failures, identify potential root causes, and drive issues to resolution together with development and integration teams.

Perform regression testing following software changes and defect fixes.

Support testing during software releases and integration activities.

Contribute to improving test procedures, test coverage, and overall testing processes.

Troubleshoot and support investigation of issues occurring on vehicles, test benches, and MTTF benches.

Skills

Must have

Practical experience with manual testing, test execution, and failure investigation.

Experience working with at least one of the following automotive validation environments:

Previous experience with automotive infotainment or vehicle systems.

Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Ethernet, or SOME/IP.

Familiarity with tools such as CANoe/CANalyzer or similar automotive testing tools.

Experience with automotive diagnostics, e.g. UDS.

Basic knowledge of Linux.

Good understanding of software testing principles, test levels, and defect lifecycle.

Experience creating, executing, and documenting test cases.

Ability to analyze test failures and identify relevant evidence for troubleshooting.

Experience with Jira and test management tools such as Xray or similar.

Basic understanding of automotive software and electronic control units.

Ability to work with logs, traces, diagnostic information, or other system-level test data.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently investigate complex issues.

Ability to work independently and effectively manage testing activities with minimal supervision.

Strong sense of ownership and proactive approach to problem solving and defect investigation.
