Project description

The goals of the role:
1. Ensure the resilience of the CMS and CIS IT services -> address yellow DG-IS risks and red BANCO risks related to unsupported SAP systems and increased security vulnerabilities, ensuring stable operations and business continuity
2. Setup a new business service to:
- enable advanced analytics (ECB and Eurosystem) on a centralised repository
- replace the current legacy solutions BOSS and BODS (SAP) with a more efficient one
- ensure scalability for future data growth and operational longevity for cash survey data
- enhance transparency for citizens

Responsibilities

Support the ECB technical coordinator with technical leadership and mentorship to technical members of the project team during solution development, deployment, and optimization initiatives

Design end-to-end data solutions including data models, integration patterns, processing workflows, and architectural blueprints for data warehouses, data lakes, and analytical platforms.

Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps, and Power BI developers, enterprise architect and platform teams to ensure a successful delivery of the project within scope, timeline, and budget.

Create comprehensive technical documentation (e.g. architecture design document, data architecture and other technical project deliverables) for the project to support transparency and knowledge sharing.

Optimise data systems for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Strong experience in in data architecture and data engineering with proven track record in designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions including data warehouses, data lakes

Experience in leading data-oriented projects; experience with data migration and modernization projects

Experience with big data technologies and modern data stack (e.g. different data lake table formats, Spark, dbt, Power BI)

Expertise in Python for data manipulation and automation tasks.

Strong technical proficiency in SQL, database design principles, and data modelling techniques
