For one of our clients in the Insurance Segment, we are looking for Release Train Engineer.
As the "Chief Scrum Master" for the Agile Release Train (ART), you will be a high-level servant leader and coach, ensuring the seamless delivery of value across multiple integrated teams.
We are looking for a seasoned Agile leader to join our program-level operations. The project involves scaling Lean-Agile practices across a complex ecosystem of teams. As the RTE, you will navigate organizational challenges, steer the "train" through the Program Increment (PI) lifecycle, and act as the primary facilitator for the Agile Release Train. This position requiring a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on tactical execution to drive the delivery of high-impact business solutions.
As the RTE, you are the conductor of the Agile orchestra. Your core duties include:
Facilitate PI Planning: Orchestrate and lead the pivotal 2-day Program Increment (PI) planning event, ensuring all teams are aligned on mission and objectives.
Manage Dependencies & Risks: Proactively identify, track, and resolve cross-team dependencies and program-level risks (ROAMing) to ensure uninterrupted flow.
Coach Scrum Masters & Teams: Act as a mentor and consultant to Scrum Masters and Agile teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and Lean-Agile excellence.
Drive Flow & Value: Utilize Kanban and Program Boards to optimize the flow of value, identifying bottlenecks and improving cycle time at the program level.
Facilitate System Demos: Ensure the integrated solution is demonstrated at the end of every iteration, gathering feedback from stakeholders to maintain alignment.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the bridge between the teams and senior leadership, providing transparency into the ART's progress and health
Must have
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe): Deep expertise in SAFe principles and practices.
Facilitation Excellence: Proven ability to manage large-scale events (100+ people) and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.
Mentorship: Strong background in coaching Senior Scrum Masters and navigating complex team dynamics.
Risk Mitigation: Advanced skills in identifying program-level impediments and executing mitigation strategies.
Metric-Driven Leadership: Proficiency in using tools (like Jira or Azure DevOps) to track program velocity, burn-down, and flow metrics.
Leadership Level: Ability to operate at a High level Manager capacity, demonstrating executive presence and strategic thinking.
Nice to have
Certifications: Certified SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) or SPC (SAFe Practice Consultant).
Change Management: Experience leading organizational transformations or transitioning teams from traditional to Agile frameworks.
Technical Background: A foundational understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to better support technical flow.
Advanced Tooling: Experience with advanced Portfolio Management tools (e.g., Jira Align or Planview).
