Project description

Network Engineer (Switching, Routing, BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP stack, Python, MPLS on Cisco, Arista, and Aruba technologies)

Responsibilities
bullet icon

Design and build the network infrastructure projects and technology initiatives based on the customer or business requirements

bullet icon

Perform all phases of network engineering, including requirements analysis, network design, and implementation

bullet icon

Lead network migrations, remediations, and integrations

bullet icon

Participate in reviewing and approval of proposed network design and changes, and ensuring they are aligned to network standards

bullet icon

Work with Project Management/Design Teams to translate initial scope into actionable items

bullet icon

Review designs and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance

bullet icon

Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and produce solutions as required

bullet icon

Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and participate in the decision making for the acquisition of current/new technologies for the customer network environment

bullet icon

Develop reusable designs and encourage innovation that will enable team velocity

bullet icon

Explore emerging technologies

bullet icon

Provide effective engineering by demonstrating ownership and accountability for all assigned tasks and projects

bullet icon

Define, document, and adhere to technical and operational standards

bullet icon

Document solutions risks, issues and mitigation strategies

bullet icon

Create and maintain network diagrams and method of procedure (MOP)

bullet icon

Provide forward thinking and be agile in adopting new technologies to meet evolving business requirements

Provide peer reviews to deployment engineers to ensure design compliance

bullet icon

Perform after-hours systems support, installation, and maintenance as required

bullet icon

Act as level 3 escalation and on-call support for high-severity issues and available to work after hours

Skills

Must have

4+ years of extensive Network Engineering experience.

TCP/IP Fundamentals

Routing and Switching Protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, STP, VTP,

Cisco and Aruba LAN Switching

QoS, HSRP, IP SLA, DHCP, DNS, Netflow, TACACS, Cisco ISE, Dot1x, IPSEC

Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki Wireless Technologies

ServiceNOW, HP Openview, NNMi, Splunk, Rally

Skilled in a scripting language such as Python

Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
