Role focused on automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Extreme Networks (VOSS) environments, combining networking (L2/L3), Splunk observability, and API-driven automation.
Ingest and parse syslog data using Splunk (TA + Python streaming) and build dashboards
Develop Ansible playbooks to configure switches via Python-based REST APIs
Troubleshoot across network (L2/L3), APIs, and log layers
Investigate behavior by analyzing operating system (C-based), API layer (Python), and logs
Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate debugging, parsing, and automation tasks
Must have
Strong networking knowledge (L2/L3 switching)
Splunk (parsing, TA development)
Python (APIs, scripting)
Ansible automation
Syslog & REST APIs
Ability to read/debug C and Python code
Nice to have
Strong drive and motivation
Strong analytical skills
Good knowledge of Enterprise environment
UI Experience (Struts, JSF, Angular or other JavaScript frameworks)
CI/CD (TeamCity, Jenkins, or similar tools)
Big Data, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
C/C++ Programming in a unix environment is a plus
