We are seeking an experienced Murex Functional Consultant / Specialist to support a Murex implementation or change project. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, configuring, validating, and supporting functional solutions within Murex across Front Office, Middle Office, and/or Back Office areas, depending on project scope.
The role requires strong hands-on Murex expertise, a solid understanding of financial products and trade lifecycle processes, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, BA teams, developers, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

Functional Design and Solution Definition

Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional Murex solutions.

Define target-state processes and functional designs for Murex implementation or change activities.

Identify standard configuration options, gaps, dependencies, and potential workarounds.

Recommend functional solutions aligned with business, risk, control, and technical constraints.

Hands-on Murex Configuration

Perform or support hands-on configuration in Murex.

Configure and maintain relevant Murex components, which may include:

product setup

workflows

event generation

pricing parameters

market data setup

settlement and payment logic

accounting mappings

reporting and messaging configurations

Ensure configuration changes are properly documented, tested, and controlled.

Support environment migration and deployment activities where required.

Product and Trade Lifecycle Support

Support end-to-end trade lifecycle processes within Murex.

Validate product behavior across booking, valuation, lifecycle events, settlement, and reporting.

Troubleshoot issues related to pricing, risk, settlements, confirmations, accounting, or reporting.

Work with business teams to ensure configured functionality meets desk and operational requirements.

Testing and Validation

Define functional test scenarios, expected results, and acceptance criteria.

Support unit testing, system testing, integration testing, regression testing, and UAT.

Investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and support retesting.

Validate that configured functionality works as intended in all relevant scenarios.

Stakeholder and Delivery Support

Work closely with business users, BAs, developers, testers, and project managers.

Support issue resolution, design reviews, and implementation planning.

Communicate functional risks, limitations, and dependencies clearly.

Contribute to cutover, go-live, and hypercare support.

Production and Hypercare Support

Support production issue investigation and resolution.

Analyze configuration-related incidents and propose fixes or workarounds.

Provide post-go-live support and assist with stabilization activities.

Help ensure operational continuity and functional integrity of the platform.

Documentation

Produce and maintain functional design documents, configuration notes, test scripts, and support documentation.

Ensure traceability from business requirements to functional design, configuration, testing, and deployment.

Maintain accurate records of configuration decisions, assumptions, and known limitations.

Skills

Must have

Proven experience as a Murex Functional Consultant / Specialist on implementation or change projects.

Strong hands-on knowledge of Murex and its functional configuration.

Experience working across one or more of the following areas:

Front Office

Middle Office

Back Office

Risk

Market Data

P&L

Settlements / Confirmations / Accounting

Strong understanding of financial markets products and trade lifecycle processes.

Ability to translate business requirements into practical Murex solutions.

Experience in testing, issue analysis, and defect resolution.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience with Murex modules or areas such as:

trade capture and product definitions

pricing and valuation

risk sensitivities and analytics

settlement and payment processing

confirmation workflows

accounting interfaces

static data and market data

reporting and messaging

Knowledge of derivatives, rates, FX, credit, fixed income, equities, or commodities.

Experience with MxML, workflow, or other Murex functional components.

Understanding of interfaces, downstream systems, and data flows.

SQL or data analysis skills.

Experience working in large financial institutions or complex transformation programs.
