We are looking for a highly skilled KDB+/q (KX) Developer to join a global financial markets project. You need to have strong expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance time-series data systems using kdb+/q. The role requires hands-on experience across the Front-to-Back Trade Lifecycle and exposure to Trade Surveillance platforms. You will contribute to the architecture, development, and optimization of scalable market data and surveillance solutions while mentoring junior team members and promoting engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications using kdb+/q.

bullet icon

Build and optimize time-series databases for large-scale financial market data.

bullet icon

Develop and enhance Tick Architecture, including real-time data ingestion and streaming analytics.

bullet icon

Design end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics pipelines.

bullet icon

Work across the Front-to-Back Trade Lifecycle, including trade capture, enrichment, validation, risk, and post-trade processing.

bullet icon

Contribute to the design and implementation of Trade Surveillance solutions, including market abuse detection, alert generation, and compliance-driven workflows.

bullet icon

Optimize RDB/HDB performance, query execution, and data storage strategies.

bullet icon

Collaborate with business stakeholders, quantitative teams, and technology teams to deliver scalable solutions.

bullet icon

Conduct code reviews, establish development standards, and mentor junior developers.

Drive technical excellence through architectural guidance and development best practices.

Skills

Must have

bullet icon

8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in q and KDB+ development, including architecture and optimization of large-scale time-series data platforms.

bullet icon

Strong hands-on experience with kdb+/q (KX) development.

bullet icon

Deep understanding of kdb+ Tick Architecture, RDB/HDB, and streaming analytics.

bullet icon

Experience designing and optimizing high-performance time-series database solutions.

bullet icon

Strong knowledge of financial markets and the Front-to-Back Trade Lifecycle.

bullet icon

Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and scalable data processing.

bullet icon

Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.

Ability to design end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, and analytics pipelines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
