We are seeking an M-shaped Full-Stack Technical Lead with expert-level Java engineering skills and accountability for delivery across the platform. This role is not a traditional full-stack position—the successful candidate will have deep, end-to-end expertise in Java as their primary discipline, while independently managing small- to medium-complexity tasks in three secondary areas: React front-end development, DevSecOps, and Test Automation. AI and Agentic AI tools will be leveraged to enhance capabilities across these secondary domains without requiring deep specialization in each. The role includes platform-wide technical leadership responsibilities, such as setting standards, reviewing designs, coaching engineers, and embedding quality early through shift-left practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Spring Boot microservices integrating with relational and NoSQL databases, message brokers (Kafka), and internal/external APIs, ensuring scalable and reliable services across on-premise and cloud environments.

Manage REST API design end-to-end, including contract definition, versioning, error handling, performance optimization, and reliability, to meet non-functional requirements and consumer expectations.

Serve as the technical leader for Java engineering platform-wide, establishing coding standards, architectural patterns, reviewing designs and pull requests, and providing technical guidance to delivery teams.

Lead performance tuning and optimization of Java services by profiling, identifying bottlenecks related to memory, threading, I/O, and database, and implementing solutions collaboratively with engineering teams.

Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) as a foundational practice in Java delivery, ensuring testability is embedded from the outset.

Develop and maintain React components, screens, and features for small

The role demands advanced proficiency in modern Java programming, emphasizing core concepts such as concurrency, streams, and modular design, with Java 17+ being preferable. Candidates must exhibit substantial experience in architecting and developing Spring Boot microservices within large-scale enterprise settings. Expertise in database interactions is essential, including strong skills in SQL, JPA/Hibernate, query optimization, and data modeling. Familiarity with event-driven system design and message brokers, particularly Apache Kafka, is required. Deploying and managing Java services via containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes) is a key responsibility. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to design robust REST APIs, incorporating principles like contract-first design, versioning, pagination, error management, and optimization of API performance. Experience in performance tuning involving profiling, heap and thread analysis, garbage collection adjustments, and latency minimization is also necessary. A rigorous approach to test-driven development and unit/integration testing, using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, is expected. Candidates must also have experience delivering solutions in both on-premise and cloud environments.
