This role requires a highly accountable Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams in designing and delivering surveillance solutions for capital markets. The position demands strong technical expertise in Java, deep knowledge of surveillance workflows, and proven experience in driving delivery excellence while ensuring compliance, scalability, and system reliability.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineering teams responsible for building and enhancing surveillance solutions.

Take end-to-end ownership of product development and delivery across the SDLC.

Ensure scalability, performance, and compliance of applications in line with regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to align solutions with strategic goals.

Define and implement engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality benchmarks.

Mentor team members, fostering accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and cross-team coordination for successful delivery.

Skills

Must have

12+ years of IT experience with at least 4+ years in engineering management or leadership roles.

Strong expertise in Java/J2EE technologies and distributed system design.

Solid understanding of capital markets with direct exposure to surveillance or compliance systems.

Demonstrated track record of delivering complex technology projects with accountability.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Structured problem-solving and decision-making ability.

Experienced in working one or more areas among Capital Markets, Regulatory Reporting, Trade Reporting, Trade Surveillance etc.

Nice to have

Experience with event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka).
