We are looking for a Senior V&V Embedded HW/SW Development Engineer to support the development of reusable hardware and software assets for automotive test automation.
The role is responsible for designing, building, integrating, testing, and documenting embedded hardware and software solutions that enable and expand automated testing capabilities. The position combines embedded hardware design, PCB development, hardware I/O integration, embedded software, test automation, and V&V activities, with opportunities to leverage Machine Learning and Computer Vision technologies.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can work across the hardware and software boundaries and translate testing requirements into practical, reusable solutions for automotive test benches.
Design, develop, integrate, test, and document reusable HW/SW automation-testing assets for automotive test environments.
Design and develop custom hardware solutions to support test-bench automation and ECU/system validation.
Develop PCB designs and layouts for test-bench applications.
Design and solution audio boards and audio-related hardware interfaces for automotive testing.
Develop hardware solutions to support BCM (Body Control Module) functionality within test benches.
Design and develop test harnesses, cables, adapters, and hardware interfaces required for test automation.
Evaluate, configure, and integrate off-the-shelf (COTS) peripherals to support hardware I/O module connectivity.
Develop and integrate hardware I/O solutions for communication between test equipment, ECUs, sensors, and other test-bench components.
Develop embedded software and automation components using C/C++ and Python.
Integrate hardware and software components into HIL and other automotive test environments.
Develop automated test solutions for embedded automotive systems.
Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, software, communication, and integration issues.
Support validation of hardware designs through prototyping, bench testing, integration, and system-level testing.
Create technical documentation including schematics, PCB documentation, interface specifications, test procedures, and configuration documentation.
Develop reusable libraries, drivers, utilities, and automation components that can be leveraged across multiple test benches and projects.
Integrate Machine Learning and Computer Vision capabilities into test automation where applicable, including camera-based validation and automated visual analysis.
Support integration of automation assets into CI/CD and automated testing environments.
Analyze test failures and perform root-cause analysis across hardware, software, and test infrastructure.
Collaborate with embedded software developers, V&V engineers, system engineers, DevOps engineers, and technical leads.
Must have
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in embedded hardware/software development, V&V, test automation, or related engineering roles.
