We are seeking a highly experienced Digital Assets Custody Engineer to design, build, and operate secure custody solutions for digital assets across hot, warm, and cold environments. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding cryptographic keys, ensuring transaction integrity, and maintaining highly available, compliant, and scalable custody platforms.
You should have combined deep expertise in blockchain technologies, cryptographic key management, and secure system architecture with a strong understanding of operational controls, regulatory requirements, and security best practices. You will collaborate closely with security, compliance, and DevOps teams to ensure the highest standards of asset protection and operational resilience.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain secure digital asset custody architectures, including hot, warm, and cold storage solutions

bullet icon

Develop and operate Key Management Systems (KMS) supporting multi-signature and Multi-Party Computation (MPC) wallets

bullet icon

Build, integrate, and maintain blockchain connectivity for networks such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other Layer 1 / Layer 2 protocols

bullet icon

Implement best-in-class security controls for private key generation, storage, backup, access, and transaction signing

bullet icon

Define and enforce transaction approval workflows, policy controls, and cryptographic signing processes

bullet icon

Continuously monitor custody systems for anomalies, unauthorized activity, and potential security threats

bullet icon

Partner with security, compliance, and DevOps teams to ensure regulatory, audit, and operational alignment

bullet icon

Conduct and support security audits, penetration tests, and risk assessments related to custody infrastructure

bullet icon

Architect for high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, and business continuity

bullet icon

Automate custody-related operations including wallet creation, transaction processing, reconciliation, and reporting

Contribute to incident response planning, post-mortem analysis, and ongoing platform hardening

Skills

Must have

bullet icon

6+ years of professional experience in software engineering, security engineering, or infrastructure engineering

bullet icon

3+ years of hands-on experience working with blockchain systems, cryptographic assets, or digital asset custody platforms

bullet icon

Proven experience designing or operating secure key management solutions (HSMs, MPC, multi-signature wallets)

bullet icon

Strong understanding of public-key cryptography, key lifecycle management, and secure signing mechanisms

bullet icon

Experience with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and at least one other blockchain or smart contract platform

bullet icon

Solid knowledge of blockchain transaction models, nonce management, fee mechanics, and consensus behaviors

bullet icon

Experience integrating custody systems with APIs, internal services, and operational tooling

bullet icon

Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, and infrastructure-as-code

bullet icon

Proficiency in at least one systems or backend programming language (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, Python, or similar)

Strong understanding of security best practices for sensitive systems (least privilege, defense in depth, secure enclaves)

Experience supporting audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, internal controls)

Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, incident response, and threat detection methodologies

Experience building highly available and fault-tolerant systems with disaster recovery strategies
