We are looking for an experienced Development Manager (Java) to join the development team working on sophisticated software solutions for a global leader in innovative orthodontics.

The team develops core platforms, APIs, and services that integrate internal systems and applications supporting the full orthodontic manufacturing lifecycle. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people and delivery management, ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes and alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities

Technical & Delivery Leadership

Lead the design and development of scalable, secure backend systems based on Java and Spring Framework

Own and drive technical architecture decisions, ensuring long-term maintainability and performance

Guide the refactoring and modernization of legacy systems to a modern tech stack

bullet icon

Ensure best practices in code quality, testing, security, and performance

bullet icon

Team & People Management

bullet icon

Act as a line manager and technical leader for the development team

bullet icon

Mentor, coach, and grow engineers, supporting both technical and career development

bullet icon

Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

bullet icon

Process & Collaboration

bullet icon

Drive Agile delivery, actively participating in planning, reviews, and retrospectives

Oversee code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices

Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, QA, and DevOps stakeholders

Communicate clearly and proactively with project and business stakeholders

Skills

Must have

Java backend development (8+ years overall experience recommended)

bullet icon

Strong expertise with Spring Framework / Spring Boot

bullet icon

Proven experience in technical leadership or development management roles

bullet icon

Solid knowledge of software architecture and system design

bullet icon

Strong experience with SQL, NoSQL databases, and data modeling

bullet icon

Hands-on experience with Docker and modern deployment practices

bullet icon

Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle

bullet icon

Experience working in distributed, Agile environments

bullet icon

Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional discussions

English proficiency: C1 (written and spoken)

Nice to have
