The role of Cloud Engineer (FinOps) operates in the Cloud Enablement Office (CEO) team and overall within our Cloud Acceleration & Transformation team. This role has a particular emphasis on Finance
Operations (FinOps) in the public cloud. The Cloud Acceleration & Transformation (CA&T) team is a cross-functional group responsible for developing and managing the cloud strategy, governance, and best practices that the rest of the organization can leverage to transform the business using the cloud. The CEO is recognised as the conduit for internal customers of Zurich's multi-cloud platform to accelerate cloud adoption across the business and manage the roadmap for cloud migrations. The CEO product portfolio spans Advisory & Enablement, FinOps, Risk & Compliance and Education. The Cloud Engineer - FinOps role would appeal to a person who enjoys variety and developing opportunities within an evolving global function.

Responsibilities

As part of the CEO team delivering FinOps you will help to:

Deliver FinOps operational processes including invoicing, billing/chargeback, cost optimization, and cost controls

bullet icon

Perform FinOps analytics to enhance decision-making around business cases, budgets, cloud spend, and cost savings

bullet icon

Maintain, develop, and enhance FinOps solutions to enable lean cloud operations across applications

bullet icon

Define and manage FinOps KPIs to demonstrate alignment of cloud services with business objectives

bullet icon

Contribute to cloud adoption programs, DevOps initiatives, and cloud value optimization efforts

bullet icon

Collaborate continuously with Product Owners, Engineering, and Operations to support iterative cloud roadmap development

bullet icon

Maintain strong engagement with Finance teams supporting the CA&T function

bullet icon

Contribute to cloud risk and compliance governance processes, ensuring continuous adherence to policies and obligations

Act as a trusted advisor and manage stakeholders effectively

Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and proactive problem-solving on behalf of the CEO and CA&T teams

Gain familiarity with wider IT services, CA&T processes, and Zurich security and architecture standards

Skills

Must have

bullet icon

3+ years of experience delivering cloud cost management in AWS and/or Azure environments

bullet icon

Strong experience with public cloud usage, billing, and financial management in large-scale enterprise environments

bullet icon

Proficiency with FinOps tooling and/or native AWS/Azure cost management services

bullet icon

Solid understanding of cloud service provider billing and invoicing processes

bullet icon

Proven ability to work collaboratively in Agile delivery environments

bullet icon

Relevant degree or diploma in a related field

Nice to have

Experience with Python, API integrations, Azure DevOps, or JIRA

Project, program, or service delivery management experience in cloud or virtualized infrastructures

Exposure to cloud governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
