Req. VR-121553
We are seeking an experienced Camera Video Engineer to join the ADAS ECU software platform development team. The role focuses on middleware architecture related to motion, video, and power management subsystems, as well as the design and optimization of camera-based features such as Surround View and Cloud-integrated video services.
This is a cross-functional role that bridges software architecture, middleware frameworks, and video pipeline design for next-generation vision-based ADAS systems.
-Define and develop the middleware layer for camera and video subsystems covering motion architecture, video architecture, and power management integration within the ADAS ECU.
-Design scalable and modular interfaces for multi-camera systems used in Surround View, Park Assist, and Perception modules.
Investigate and architect new video-based features—e.g., cloud video streaming, customer mobile app integration, data logging, and remote feature enablement.
-Analyze system startup delays in current camera pipelines; propose and prototype optimized initialization and power sequencing concepts to achieve faster boot times.
-Collaborate with platform, hardware, and application teams to integrate the video middleware with the broader ADAS software platform.
-Ensure compliance with AUTOSAR / Adaptive Platform architectural principles and ASIL (Functional Safety) considerations where applicable.
Participate in system performance reviews, design documentation, and technical alignment with cross-functional engineering teams.
Must have
-Minimum 5+ years in the automotive domain.
-Strong background in embedded software architecture for ADAS camera systems or video middleware frameworks.
-Hands-on experience with video interfaces and pipelines (GMSL, MIPI, V4L2, OpenVX, OpenCV, or NVMedia-based frameworks).
-Solid understanding of boot-time optimization, power states, and resource management in automotive ECUs.
-Experience in C/C++, Linux/QNX-based automotive platforms, and middleware abstraction layers.
-Exposure to camera calibration, multi-sensor synchronization, and low-level driver integration.
-Good understanding of AUTOSAR (Classic/Adaptive) architecture and its impact on the middleware layer.
-Familiarity with cloud connectivity, data pipelines, or app-level integration for camera-based features is a plus.
-Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-domain collaboration skills.
-Experience with NVIDIA Drive / Qualcomm / Renesas / AURIX-based platforms.
-Background in ADAS feature development, such as Surround View, Driver Monitoring, or Object Detection.
-Knowledge of ASPICE and Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
-Prior experience with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers in production vehicle programs.
