Business Analyst – Collateral Management

The Business Analyst will be responsible for defining and delivering the Securities Services collateral management capability, with primary focus on the planned use of Broadridge Collateral Management (SFCM). The role will translate business, operations, risk, credit and technology needs into clear requirements, operating workflows, interfaces, controls, reports and UAT acceptance criteria for collateral onboarding, valuation, exposure monitoring, LTV / breach management and margin-call related processes
Translate requirements for collateral onboarding, acceptable instruments, eligibility rules, haircuts, margins, concentration checks, collateral valuation and exposure monitoring into BRD / FSD / user stories and traceable acceptance criteria.
Define data and integration requirements for positions, trades, prices, limits and exposures across the custody platform, Broadridge SFCM, market / static data sources and other bank systems as applicable.
Develop process maps, data lineage, reconciliation approach and control design for MT535 / API / manual position feeds, incremental trade updates, mark-to-market valuation and collateral value recalculation.
Support decisions on tactical versus target-state solution design, including what can be handled through SFCM configuration versus items requiring enhancement, integration or project funding.
Drive UAT preparation and execution, including test scenarios for collateral value, exposure / LTV calculation, breach alerts, margin-call triggers, dashboard / reporting outputs and operational hand-offs.
Responsible for defining, challenging and baselining BA artefacts including scope, requirements, process maps, user stories, traceability matrix, UAT scenarios and business sign-off packs.
Can recommend fit-gap outcomes, prioritization, control requirements and release scope; final decisions on funding, vendor commitments, risk acceptance and go-live remain with accountable governance forums.
Escalates unresolved scope ambiguity, regulatory / control gaps, data ownership issues, integration risks, vendor dependency and operational readiness concerns in a timely manner.
Must have
10+ years of overall experience, including 5+ years as a Business Analyst in banking, securities services, custody, capital markets or collateral management.
3+ years hands-on experience in Securities Services / Custody transformation, collateral management, securities finance, GCF, agency lending, lending against custody assets or similar business domains.
Exposure to Broadridge SFCM / CMS, collateral platforms, securities finance systems, custody platforms, reconciliation platforms, limit / collateral systems or market / static data integrations is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of collateral lifecycle: onboarding, position import, eligibility, haircut / margin rules, valuation, exposure calculation, LTV thresholds, breach alerts, margin calls, reporting and reconciliation.
Working knowledge of relevant data flows and messaging such as SWIFT MT535, trade / position feeds, APIs, pricing feeds, master / static data and downstream reporting extracts.
Proven ability to create BRDs, FSDs, process maps, operating models, data mapping, interface specifications, user stories, UAT test packs and requirement traceability matrices.
Experience engaging vendors and SMEs to perform fit-gap analysis, demo preparation, configuration assessment, open-question tracking and delivery dependency management.
Strong stakeholder management across business, operations, credit / risk, compliance, technology, architecture and vendor teams.
Good understanding of SDLC, waterfall and agile delivery practices; able to operate in structured governance while supporting iterative design validation.
Strong analytical, communication and documentation skills with ability to convert complex business / product requirements into practical technology deliverables.
