Project description

We are seeking an Expert Blockchain Developer for a short-term, fixed-scope engagement to facilitate a smooth vendor handoff of our blockchain tokenization platform. The system is designed to capture external off-chain data feeds and utilize that data to mint utility and financial tokens. The architecture leverages Ethereum and Polygon (L2) for smart contract execution, and relies on IPFS for storing metadata, slow-moving reporting data, and JSON files.

Responsibilities
bullet icon

Analyze the existing blockchain implementation, smart contracts, related documentation, vendor handover materials, and technical assumptions received during the transition from the previous vendor.

bullet icon

Support production-readiness remediation of the blockchain part of the Carbon Token platform, including investigation and resolution of identified issues in smart contracts, tokenization logic, deployment configuration, and integration points.

bullet icon

Implement required changes in smart contracts and blockchain-related backend components to ensure the solution is stable, secure, auditable, and ready for production use.

bullet icon

Review and improve smart contract logic related to carbon capture records, token creation, ownership, lifecycle management, status changes, and traceability of carbon-related data.

bullet icon

Support alignment between blockchain implementation and business requirements, including carbon capture tracking, auditability, compliance-supporting data flows, and future customer onboarding scenarios.

bullet icon

Work closely with the Solution Architect, Blockchain Architect, Business Analyst, backend developers, QA team, and UI/UX team to clarify requirements, validate technical assumptions, and ensure consistency across the platform.

bullet icon

Participate in blockchain architecture discussions and provide implementation-level input on smart contract design, deployment approach, platform compatibility, security considerations, and future scalability.

bullet icon

Support remediation of gaps identified during technical assessment, security review, blockchain audit, and production-readiness planning.

bullet icon

Prepare and maintain blockchain-related technical documentation, including smart contract behavior, deployment steps, configuration details, assumptions, limitations, and handover notes.

bullet icon

Support test planning and defect resolution for blockchain functionality, including unit testing, integration testing, smart contract testing, and validation of end-to-end business flows.

bullet icon

Assist with preparation for IRS review and auditor-facing scenarios by ensuring that blockchain-related records are traceable, technically consistent, and aligned with the expected data flow.

bullet icon

Support deployment and environment setup activities for blockchain components across non-production and production-like environments.

bullet icon

Provide technical support during the first customer integration readiness phase, including troubleshooting, configuration updates, and validation of blockchain-related integration flows.

bullet icon

Contribute to future product development after production-readiness remediation, including enhancements, new customer onboarding needs, and evolution of blockchain capabilities.

Skills

Must have

bullet icon

Strong experience in blockchain development and smart contract implementation.

bullet icon

Hands-on experience with Solidity and EVM-compatible blockchain platforms.

bullet icon

Understanding of smart contract architecture, token standards, contract lifecycle, ownership models, and on-chain/off-chain data interaction.

bullet icon

Experience with smart contract testing, debugging, deployment, and verification.

bullet icon

Knowledge of blockchain security principles, common smart contract vulnerabilities, and secure coding practices.

bullet icon

Experience with smart contract audit remediation and resolving findings from security or technical reviews.

bullet icon

Understanding of tokenization concepts, digital asset lifecycle, traceability, and auditability.

bullet icon

Experience with backend integration of blockchain components, APIs, event listeners, and transaction processing.

bullet icon

Ability to analyze existing code, documentation, architecture assumptions, and vendor handover materials.

bullet icon

Experience with production-readiness remediation, technical debt resolution, and stabilization of inherited systems.

bullet icon

Understanding of cloud-based environments and deployment pipelines for blockchain-related components.

bullet icon

Ability to work with QA teams on unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of blockchain functionality.

bullet icon

Strong troubleshooting skills for smart contracts, blockchain transactions, environment configuration, and integration issues.

bullet icon

Ability to document smart contract behavior, deployment steps, assumptions, limitations, and technical decisions.

bullet icon

Good communication skills for working with architects, business analysts, backend developers, QA, and customer-facing teams.

Nice to have

bullet icon

Experience with carbon credit, ESG, MRV, compliance-supporting, or audit-heavy systems.

bullet icon

Understanding of carbon capture, carbon accounting, or environmental asset tokenization concepts.

bullet icon

Experience with Hyperledger, Polygon, Ethereum, or other enterprise-suitable blockchain platforms.

bullet icon

Experience with Web3 libraries and tools such as Hardhat, Truffle, Foundry, Web3.js, or Ethers.js.

bullet icon

Experience with CI/CD for smart contracts and blockchain components.

bullet icon

Experience supporting production launch, first customer onboarding, or enterprise integration readiness.

bullet icon

Ability to support auditor-facing or regulator-facing technical preparation.
