The Software Configuration Engineer will facilitate the Software Manager and Software Development Group by
● Identifying, addressing and communicating issues in configuration management activities
● Reporting on configuration management status to product teams and articulate build and release engineering issues in detail
● Identifying new tools and methods for process improvement

Project domain is Advanced Driver Assist Systems. The product is an ECU managing the fusion of signals from ULS sensors and Cameras to provide driver assistance features such as automated parking, pedestrian detection, rear braking assistance etc. CAN communication. Diagnostics. Inter core communication (PCB has 2 chips , multiple cores).

Process wide we follow ASPICE methodology.
Technology wise we deal with lot of System and SW features . C/C++ (platform development) , Matlab (Model based development), Python (for release management scripts/automation).

Responsibilities

---

Report on Software Development activities as appropriate t o the Software Team Leader.
● Define and maintain Software Configuration Management policies f or individual projects based on the company procedures a nd guidelines
● Produce S W releases a nd accompanying documentation
● Support software project build system and enhance its performance a nd efficiency (develop scripts and automation tools)
● Oversee configuration issues during project lifecycle and propose resolutions
● Contribute to routine Software Design Reviews, Peer Code Reviews and Software Acceptance Test activities o n a regular basis ( for configuration checks)
● Comply with company Software Quality standards, ISO15504.
● Assist Project Leader with the following tasks as agreed:
o The definition and maintenance of Software Product Lines
o The implementation of Software Configuration process to assure software products integrity and reproducibility
o Ensure t he Configuration management of Software Reuse Assets adheres to the Reuse process
● Assist project teams with configuration management best practices, tool use and quality assurance Continuous improvement & innovation
● Help define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing and release management
● Identify opportunities for configuration and build process improvement
● Identify industry best practices
● Identify areas o f lost efficiency and propose solutions
● Identify new tools and methodologies

Skills

---

Must have

Min 3 years engineering experience
● Good programming skills in C/C++, Python or Shell scripting
● Good Knowledge of Software version and revisioning systems (SVN, Serena Dimensions)
● Good Exposure to Branching and Merge strategies
● Experience with software build tools, ideally CMake
● Exposure to integrating the build infrastructure with automated tools to enforce code quality as well as automated tests is a plus
● Ability to be able to react/respond quickly to issues and be able to 'think on your feet'
● Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
● Mindset of continuous improvement
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice to have

● Executed projects in Automotive Domain
● Knowledge of ISO26262/ISO15504/SPICE/CMMI.
● Experience with Automotive CAN, FlexRay and LIN networks
● Experience in setting up continuous integration tools, preferably Jenkins
● Experience in Software Reuse
