This role is an exciting opportunity for a hands on Java developer with Fixed Income eTrading experience. In particular, we are looking for candidates with ION MarketView Java API experience. ION is a key component of our eTrading platform providing pricing and trading integration for D2C and D2D markets, for the Rates and Credit businesses. The platform includes various in-house Java components for Algorithmic Trading and STP trading booking. The Algo components are helping automate trading flows to free up traders to perform more value add for clients. This role is an exciting opportunity to be part a global eTrading development team that is distributed over London, Bangalore and Singapore.

Responsibilities

---

• Java development of custom components using ION's Java API
• Re-engineering of existing Java components to provide a stable and maintainable platform for the business
• Ability to provide L2 Production support and write documentation
• Improve technical implementation of our Rates and Credit eTrading platform
• Help towards the further adoption of agile methodology and implement automated testing for all new development work undertaken
• Ability to run projects end to end without monitoring
• Write automated functional and performance tests in Gherkin/Cucumber

Skills

Must have

• Strong experience of Java development of custom components using ION's Java API
• Experience of fixed income D2C markets, price contribution and RFQ workflows
• Exposure to ION MarketView in particular how ION D2C gateways their interface and data model
• Linux experience including shell scripting
• Experience of SDLC tools including GIT & Maven
• Demonstrable experience and conviction of writing automated tests, both unit tests and component tests.
• Gherkin/Cucumber testing tools.
• Knowledge of Fixed Income trading environment in Rates and/or Credit businesses
• Experience of Agile development practices ideally Scrum.
• Bachelors in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills in a complex trading environment including pricing/trade capture issues.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with Bond STP systems for trade booking.
• Development of FIX gateways for market connectivity.
• Python experience would be advantageous
• Automate/build tools, to industrialize support of a cutting edge in-house trading platform.
• Further experience of ION MarketView including MMI, SysAdmin and how components are configured, installed and managed.
