Luxoft is an industry-leading software integrator and solution house for automakers and automotive suppliers. There are millions of cars on the road today with solutions designed by Luxoft. Together with our German partner, we are working on the development of modern and future technologies such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with highest demands in safety and reliability.
For one of our new projects we are looking for 2 Functional Safety engineers. The (System) Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for assisting and ensuring that design and development of Tier 1 Supplier's
products/solutions is carried out in accordance with the its Functional Safety (FuSa) methodology (in-line with
ISO26262).

Responsibilities


    (System) Functional Safety Engineering
    ● Identify FuSa requirements within the project based on Customer or/and Internal Requirements;
    ● Carry out system design analysis to support the development of safety case arguments for FuSa products;
    ● Ensure the integration of the FuSa activities in the development project;
    ● Create hazard and risk analyses where necessary, safety plan, functional and technical safety concept;
    ● Specify FuSa requirements and FuSa concepts for system, hardware and software architectures;
    ● Demonstrate how the chosen technical concept will comply with FuSa requirements;
    ● Collaborate with the development team in the design of effective technical solution aimed to achieve
    adequate robustness at System, HW and SW architectural level in compliance with Valeo FuSa methodology
    (and ISO26262);
    ● Contribute in the product development process, by creating the appropriate work products that meet the
    requirements of the relevant FuSa standards;
    ● Prepare and assist to the FuSa Assessment Reviews held by FuSa assessor;
    ● Develop necessary FuSa analysis activities such as PHA, FTA, DFA, FMEDA, eFMEA;
    ● Define the FuSa verification & validation activities;
    ● Communicate and review with customer to ensure common understanding and agreement on FuSa
    implementation;
    Functional Safety Management
    Apply expertise of Valeo FuSa methodology and ISO26262 to all relevant aspects of product development;
    ● Lead FuSa planning in Project Plan & Schedule and create Project Safety Development Plan;
    ● Provide support for the product development team and other functions in FuSa processes and activities;
    ● Organise and allocate of FuSa responsibilities within the project ensuring relevant functions are aware of
    the required outputs;
    ● Liaise with project manager to ensure FuSa planning aspects are addressed in the project plan & schedule;
    ● Agree the Development Interface Agreement with customers regarding FuSa and ensure regular
    communication to the Customer during the development phases in regard to FuSa;
    ● Ensure the incorporation of the safety concepts in customer end-products and verify the overall safety
    concept;
    ● Develop the Safety Case for the product;
    Project Management
    ● Identify, plan, organise, track and document all necessary FuSa activities within project ;
    ● Ensure close co-operation with the product technical project manager and other FuSa resources in other
    sites or external contractors;
    ● Ensure consistent tracking of all FuSa related activities;
    ● Organize, prepare and moderate the FuSa activities and FuSa analysis;
    ● Document the FuSa activities, establish evidence of FuSa;
    ● Negotiate and agree with the Customer the scope and common understanding of the FuSa requirements

Skills


Must have

    Degree in Electronic, Computer or System Engineering or equivalent

Nice to have

    ● Functional Safety program certification / trainings
    ● Experience to ISO26262 standard and in application to automotive product development
    ● Experience to creating safety concepts and technical safety requirements
    ● Experience with system engineering and validation tools & methods (requirements, architecture,
    testing)
    ● Experience with analysis tools & methods such as FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA
    ● Experience with product safety standards linked to FuSa (e.g. SOTIF - ISO21448)
    ● Minimum 3 years experience in the automotive industry
    ● Familiar with automotive quality management (IATF16949) and R&D product development processes
