1. The candidate will be primarily working on applications that have Daytona as the database, and will also support an application that has Vertica. These datastores are several petabytes in size. The candidate will be handling Call Detail Record data and Location data. Daily activities would include monitoring loading of the data into the Daytona database, troubleshooting/analyzing failed loads, and file system allocations for the data and indexes. The candidate would be creating/modifying existing shell scripts that load the data into the Database, create Daytona queries in Cymbal language, write new code to implement extract and transform modules in C language. The candidate would maintain and create new Vertica queries, perform health monitoring activities of Vertica cluster (not a dba type of activity) etc.
2. Needs to be available/reachable 24*7 to take care of urgent issues.
If the candidate does not have prior experience with Daytona, we are looking for a candidate who is willing to learn and manage the applications that uses Daytona.
