Responsibilities

---

Design and collaborate with local and partner teams
Test all scenarios and conform to quality standards
Identify performance issues; apply knowledge of security coding practices and secure system fundamentals (e.g., cross-site scripting, security certificates)
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of information technology concepts issues, trends and best practices as they relate to the discipline/practice
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of specific needs of a major line of business and the related set of applications, systems or functions

What your background may look like
2+ years of current professional experience working with modern OO language (Java/Spring Boot or equivalent.)
Proven proficiency in API development (REST) and in event streaming solutions (Kinesis/Kafka/AVRO)
Familiar with modern infrastructure tools and pipelines such as Docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab CI/CD
A desire to have full ownership of the entire SDLC from conception through build and deployment, to ongoing production operational support (all team members are expected to take an on-call shift to support our systems 24/7.)
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
Agile software development experience
Experience with Amazon Web Services ecosystem or similar
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must have

Strong familiarity with most of the following languages/technologies: Java, Spring Boot, NodeJS, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS Lambda, AWS Dynamo DB, Fastly
Strong familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Some experience with software engineering best practices, test-driven development, code review, and version control with git
Passion for problem-solving and curiosity about modern innovation
Relationship-building and clear communication
Commitment to collaboration and regularly presenting progress, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders
Good technical writing and documenting

Nice to have

Strong familiarity with CI/CD and modern build and deployment tools (GitLab CI is a plus)
