Business Analyst, Sydney

Project Description

Excelian is currently seeking a Risk BA to join their growing regional risk practice
Excelian are currently engaged at a number of clients and this role would be as one of the lead credit risk BA's to assist Excelian's expansion beyond credit risk build/configuration into model validation


You will be a principal Credit Risk Business Analyst focussing on leading a model validation team building a credit risk engine and limits management system for a key institutional banking client
Your role
• drive and coordinate the delivery of a new credit risk platform for global markets
• drive the model validation stream
• lead the business analysis team for all project activities
• understand, analyse and document business cases and business requirements
• identify, assess and implement business solutions
• provide strategic view on the design and project planning
• identify cross over impact and opportunities with other programs
• assist IT and business in defining test cases and acceptance criteria
• facilitate and support the transition of change programs into run-the-bank



• experience of PFE (potential future exposure) and credit limit calculations
• deep expertise of counterparty credit risk calculations
• a degree in banking and finance, economics, maths or similar subject
• previous business analysis experience in the financial industry relating to the area of counterparty credit risk
• previous model validation experience to be able to laisse with and support quants
• strong communication and management skills to face off to, influence and engage senior stakeholders and lead the team activities
• ability to work independently, highly organized and able to work in a quickly changing and fast paced environment
• Agile delivery experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial markets products and their underlying models
Experience of using Murex and/or FIS Credient /Adaptive Risk systems a strong plus

Nice to have

• Proven ability to acquire new skills and deliver solutions with limited oversight
• Consulting experience
