Support Engineer

Project Description

Strategic Data Platform is global scale distributed strategic project in the CCRO Big Data Analytics area and provides critical functionality for our client – one of the biggest investment bank in the world. The main objective of the project is to maintain newly created strategic data platform and bring improvements for existing data-flow and pipelines. Project activities will include close collaboration with business / IT stakeholders and cross-functional teams, deep analysis of data feeds and troubleshooting. We are looking for an experienced engineer who can be a self-starter and be able to drive DevOps principles and bring significant contribution into developing the strategic data platform. Ability to acquire new skills within short time scales, adapt to rapidly changing work practices; builds and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues.


• Responsible for monitoring business applications and services in production, mainly based on strategic BigData platform
• Handling incident tickets as well as customer calls
• Responsibility for Batch job monitoring and troubleshooting
• Parsing and analysing data feeds as well as error checking
• Writing and running scripts on DB for ad-hoc reports
• Application / component administration on Windows/ Unix servers
• Software release and problem management
• Coordination for Disaster Recovery Testing
• Automation of support activity
• Drive DevOps principle throughout the team

Skills Required

• At least of 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, ELK based solution along with Java based applications support
• Prior experience in Production Support
• Good knowledge of working in Banking or Financial Services
• Good experience in UNIX/ Windows servers
• Exposure to SQL syntax (select, joins, deletes) / databases
• Quick Problem solving ability
• Used to work in an international and multicultural settings
• Good communication skills in English, German is an additional asset
• Experience in coordinating with different stakeholders from IT and Business side

Qualification & Certificates
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Informatics, Computer Sciences or similar degree and/or experience in a similar role
