Senior Java Developer

Project Description

The Voltaire team handles financial data transformation to given custom formats, using the latest technologies available in the BigData world (Apache Spark, Cassandra, Datomic etc)
The Standardized Output (StdOut) project focuses on consolidating heterogeneous outputs into the Lingua Risk Protocol (an IBIT specific protocol), replacing most data feeds with a single delivery format sourced from a data cloud.
You will be working in a team that participates in this process in tight collaboration with IT from customer side, and will be involved in designing and implementing the solution using Apache Spark technology to generate the data using multiple nodes.


• Work with customer on understanding business requirements and converting them to software requirements
• Participate in defining architecture solution
• Perform development tasks
• Coordinate team work as back-up scrum master and ensure timely delivery and successful release to production
• Coach more junior team members

Skills Required

• Proven Java EE experience, esp. in multi-tiered architectures 5+ years
• Excellent theoretical and practical understanding of advanced Java concepts
• Experience with databases, e.g. Oracle/Sybase
• Previous experience with Spring
• Experience with continuous integration, e.g. TeamCity, Jenkins
• Experience with static analysis tools
• Experience with Test Driven Development & Unit Tests
• Experience with Automation
• Experience with Big Data technologies is a plus
• Experience with Scala/Clojure/functional programming is a plus
• Desire to work independently and take responsibility for results of team work
• Excellent communication skills
