Can you tell us about your journey at Luxoft? How did you get started and what has your career progression been like?
I started my journey in Luxoft as a senior test automation engineer. After getting accustomed to Luxoft, I progressed to the role of the team lead. I cleared the interview process and became a team lead of 5 resources. Thanks to various development opportunities provided in Luxoft.
What motivated you to pursue a career in the tech industry? Were there any role models or inspirations that guided you?
I have always felt that technology has the power to change the world. As I grew in my career, I saw the Internet, mobile and now AI taking center stage in every industry especially in Banking.
Gender diversity and empowerment are important topics. How has Luxoft empowered you to achieve your career goals as a woman?
I view Luxoft as an equal opportunity employer. I’m confident that I can grow and thrive in my career as a woman.
Are there any initiatives or mentorship programs within Luxoft that have been instrumental in your professional growth? How have they made a difference?
There are two initiatives that have helped me personally:
- The TL program allowed me to take on a leadership role on a client account within Luxoft
- The Udemy membership program allows me to enhance my knowledge.
What's a tech-related question you've always wanted to be asked? Go ahead, ask and answer it!
Why do we need to automate testing when the same can be done manually? Answer: It requires a lot of manpower to test manually. Automated testing helps in the following ways:
- Reduces time to market
- Reduces repetitive tasks for employees and allows them to focus on value added work
- Makes the software more robust by running significantly 100x more tests at the same time, e.g., regression
As a tech professional, how do you stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements? Any resources or tips you can share?
I listen to various podcasts such as “A Week in Tech” to get insights on industry trends. I use trainings on Udemy to stay up to date on the latest topics.
What hobbies or interests do you pursue outside of work? Any fun facts about yourself that you'd like to share with the Luxoft community?
I spend time with my family, help my daughter in her studies and I enjoy running on a regular basis to stay fit. I participated in the LuxGood 10K run for breast cancer awareness, and the “Run for IT” 2023 initiative. I also participated in the #LuxoftCares ESG waterways clean-up initiative with my daughter.
What advice would you give to other women aspiring to build a career in the tech industry? How can they navigate challenges and make their mark?
I would advise them to keep themselves updated and think outside the box to identify areas to innovate using tech. Take feedback from mentors, peers and juniors to constantly improve your way of working.
