Managing a team of more than 40 professionals across APAC and the US, Maha's journey is a testament to her dedication and enthusiasm for both her career and personal life. In this interview, we learn about her work at Luxoft and how she balances her family life with a hobby that brings her immense joy.
How long have you been with Luxoft?
Since 2021.
Tell us a bit about your work and role.
Serving as a senior project manager always puts a smile on my face.
My primary responsibility is client account delivery management with one of the biggest banks in the world.
Within Luxoft, I manage more than 40 direct reports across APAC and the US.
My morning routine begins with daily client meetings to discuss all business opportunities and conversing with my team members to ensure their mental well-being and that projects are on track. Client account delivery management involves managing a client’s business requirements to complete their project, primarily in the areas of wealth management and investment banking. This includes discussions, critical analyses and precise calculations to ensure it’s profitable for our business.
If any party raises an alarm regarding any of the above, I immediately dive in as a mediator to understand the situation and provide my full support to both the Luxoft employee and client.
What is your life like after work (including weekends)? For example, what is your favorite hobby?
I’m a proud mother of two teenagers, and my evenings always revolve around them. I make sure we have proper family activities, such as baking together and playing badminton.
Baking is therapeutic for me; it’s a chance for me to smile and relax!
Don’t be surprised. I’ve baked a variety of cakes, including tiered wedding and birthday cakes. Recently however, I’m more focused on simple home bakes.
Did you manage to find like-minded colleagues who share the same interest as you? If so, how often do you all meet up (virtually or physically) to do the activity?
Yes! I have team members who are passionate about baking as well, although we don't meet to bake together. We exchange baking tips and recipes.
How does Luxoft help you maintain a work-life balance?
Luxoft’s my second home, and they truly offer a remarkable culture that understands the importance of a good work-life balance.
All praise goes to my managers who have been amazingly understanding. They’re always approachable, and they’ve taken great care of my mental well-being, too.
And finally, thanks to my remarkable team members. Their diligence, manners and support allow us to communicate like a family.
What would be your advice for tech professionals who are busy and struggling to find time for their passions?
Life can be a roller-coaster, however, we need to find passion to keep us going.
My personal view is, if you are with the right organization, you’ll embrace all moments fruitfully. We should always find “me time.”
