In Munich, Luxoft is running a project for a premium car manufacturer focused on the development of interactive in-vehicle apps / features / services for smartphones and vehicle onboard units. We employ multiple data types to ensure deployable, maintainable, scalable and reliable (on-board and off-board store) tools and services. This project requires several teams of software engineers responsible for developing, extending, testing, integrating, documenting and maintaining applications/APIs, features and services for mobile applications (Android/iOS), onboard applications (JavaScript, node.js), and big data backend/cloud services (like Azure).

Project Description

Within a project for a premium car manufacturer you have the role as Technical Lead Android & iOS Development.
In this role you are responsible for one of three small teams of software engineers, who develop or further develop, test, integrate, document and maintain apps / APIs / features / services for:
• car-interacting mobile apps for smartphones (Android / iOS),
• vehicles’ onboard mobile application platforms (Java-based / Node.JS) and
• crowd-based big data backend clouds (MS Azure / Open Mobility Cloud).

Responsibilities
Your Responsibilities:
• As Technical Lead Android & iOS Development / Automotive Connected Mobile Apps you are mainly responsible for (further) developing car-interacting apps / features / services for smartphones and car onboard units; dealing with various data types, to ensure deployable, maintainable, scalable and reliable (on- & off-board store) tools and services.
• You are the technical lead of a small agile software engineering team. Within this role you are accountable for your team’s part of the development tool chain; so you will interface and drive the technical discussion and decisions between your team our customer and further stakeholders.
• You act holistically in the manner of a system architect, contributing to appropriate software design.
• Your team develops, designs, documents, implements and integrates apps / APIs / features / services for Smartphones and the vehicles’ onboard units, interacting with big data backend clouds of the customer and to some external parties’ systems.
• Your team is also involved in prototyping and testing processes for existing and next generation car / smartphone app features and functions.
Skills Required
Our Requirements:
• Significant experience in SQL, PHP, Java, Node.JS and very good scripting skills (e.g. shell scripts, Python)
• Deep knowledge of Android, iOS and Google Assistant UI DevOps engineering is a must
• Experience in backend bonding of apps for smartphones with automotive onboard systems and crowd-based big data clouds is a big plus
• Experience in software architecture and design development is an advantage
• Given familiarity with test procedures and automated testing (Selenium, Jira, HP ALM, Gerrit, GIT, etc.)
• Ability to manage technical projects at accounts on an entrepreneurial and collaborative basis
• Good communication skills required; upper intermediate English is mandatory, German suggested
Your Profile:
• Bachelor or Master of Science in Information Technology, Mechanical / Electrical / Computer Engineering, Communications / Media Management or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in IT Operations / System Engineering of highly-available mobile applications
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in agile Scrum / Kanban projects, preferably as lead of software projects in the automotive environment, with practices of Automotive SPICE / ISO 15504, such as Apps-for-Automotive, Remote Services, Open Mobility Cloud, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
